Research Says
Most discussions in my Telecommunications and Distance learning class at Teachers College revolved around the use of podcast and other technology tools to create effective distance learning instruction. Podcasts are being used drive instruction in elementary, higher education and in under-developed communities that previously did not have access up-to-date and relevant information.
Chris Evans wrote an article, The Effectiveness of M-Learning in the Form of Podcast Revision Lectures in Higher Education, which describes the outcome of a survey completed by students who had access to using podcasts for revision of previously given lectures. While the actual effects of podcasts on instructional design and learning has not been fully established, it is obvious that podcasting has the potential to dramatically improve learning.
